What we collect
- Technical data, automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, referring page, approximate location and timestamps, through server logs, analytics and the services listed below.
- What you send us: if you email us, your address and message, used to reply and kept for our records. If we offer a newsletter and you sign up, your email address, used to send it. We only send the newsletter to people who sign up, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not ask for sensitive information, and we ask you not to send it. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not sell or rent email addresses.
Why we use it
To run, secure and improve the site, understand which content is useful, earn affiliate and any advertising income, reply to you, and meet legal obligations. By using the site you consent to these uses, as described here.
Cookies and services we use
We use cookies needed for the site to work, analytics cookies, and affiliate or advertising cookies set by others. Third parties on this site include:
- Hostinger hosts this site and keeps standard server logs.
- Google Analytics 4 (Google) measures which pages are read, how visitors arrive and their approximate location, using cookies and your IP address. Google processes this data; we see reports.
- Amazon and other retailers set their own cookies when you follow an affiliate link, to attribute purchases. We receive aggregate earnings reports, not your identity.
- Skimlinks can convert links to retailers into affiliate links. Its script may collect technical data about your visit, including through cookies, under Skimlinks’ own privacy policy.
- Gravatar (Automattic) may load images on this site, which gives that service your IP address.
- Google AdSense, where enabled, may use cookies to show and measure ads. You can manage personalised ads on Google’s Ads Settings page.
- Brevo delivers email if we offer a newsletter and you choose to join it.
These companies handle data under their own privacy policies, and we do not control what they collect. Our cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential analytics and advertising cookies. Google tags are set to a restricted mode until you choose. Some third-party scripts, such as link services, may still run, so you can also block cookies in your browser.
Where data goes
Many of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of those countries and accessible to authorities there.
Keeping and protecting information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for these purposes or as the law requires. Emails are typically kept for up to 2 years. Analytics data follows Google’s retention settings. We use reasonable safeguards, but no website or email is completely secure.
Your rights
We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). You can ask to access or correct your personal information, or withdraw consent, by emailing info@aitoolpickr.com. Depending on where you live, including the European Union, the United Kingdom, Quebec or California, you may have additional rights, such as deletion or opting out. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta, or your local authority.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
