This is a heuristic pattern estimate, not a definitive AI detector. No tool, free or paid, can reliably prove whether text was written by AI. Use this as one signal among several, never as a final judgment about someone’s writing.
About this tool
The AI Content Detector scans pasted text for measurable patterns that show up more often in AI-generated writing than in typical human writing: uniform sentence lengths (low “burstiness”), and a set of stock phrases large language models reach for often, like “delve into,” “in today’s fast-paced world,” and “boasts unparalleled.” It combines these signals into a rough percentage estimate.
This is a pattern checker, not a lie detector. Every public AI detector, including paid ones, produces false positives on human writing and false negatives on lightly-edited AI writing. Use this tool to get a quick second opinion on a draft, not to make a final judgment about anyone’s writing.
How to use it
- Paste at least a paragraph or two of text – longer samples give more reliable sentence-variance stats.
- Click Analyze.
- Read the estimate percentage alongside the band description underneath it.
- Check which phrases were flagged, if any, and judge for yourself whether they fit the context.
Pro tips
- Short samples (under ~5 sentences) are unreliable for the sentence-variance signal – paste more text if you can.
- Technical or academic writing naturally has more uniform sentence structure than casual writing, which can push the estimate higher even for human authors.
