I build real working AI automations for Canadian small and mid-sized businesses — not strategy decks, not “AI roadmaps”, not hour-billed consulting. Three tiers, fixed scope, fixed pricing, done in weeks. Keep reading if you want specific deliverables instead of generalities.
I’m Alexander McGregor, operator of Auburn AI. I run 7 websites, 21 n8n workflows, a daily AI-narrated podcast on Spotify/Apple/iHeart, a trading bot, and a Gumroad product catalogue — all orchestrated by AI + automation. I know what actually ships versus what looks good in a slide deck.
If your business has hit the “we should be doing AI somewhere” moment but you don’t want to hire a full-time engineer or pay $30K for a three-month discovery engagement, these are three fixed-scope packages that get something real into production.
Tier 1 — AI Audit + Implementation Plan ($497 CAD)
Timeline: 5 business days
Deliverable: Written plan you can execute in-house OR bring back to me for Tier 2/3
I spend 3-5 hours inside your business (async — video call, access to a few tools, some Loom walkthroughs from your team) and produce:
- A prioritized list of 10-15 AI opportunities in your operation, ranked by hours-saved-per-month
- Specific tool recommendations with CAD pricing and vendor tradeoffs (Claude vs ChatGPT vs Perplexity for your specific use cases)
- A 90-day implementation roadmap you can hand to a staff member or contractor
- A PIPEDA / privacy risk assessment for each recommendation (critical if you handle client data)
- Estimated hours saved per month at full implementation — and the break-even on any paid-tier subscriptions
Best for: owners who want clarity on “where does AI actually fit in my business?” before committing to anything larger.
Risk: if you read the plan and decide to implement yourself, you save $2,000-5,000 vs the Tier 2/3 engagement. I’d rather you do that and come back for something bigger later than oversell you.
Tier 2 — One AI Workflow Installed ($1,997 CAD)
Timeline: 2-3 weeks
Deliverable: One production workflow, documented, running in your stack, handed off to your team
I pick the single highest-ROI workflow from a Tier 1 audit (yours or one we do as part of this package) and build it end-to-end. Examples of workflows that fit this tier:
- AI-assisted inbox triage — incoming customer emails → Claude classification → routed to the right team member with a drafted response for their review
- Proposal/RFP auto-drafter — client brief goes in → Claude produces a first-draft proposal in your voice and format → partner reviews and edits instead of starting from blank
- Meeting-to-action-items pipeline — Fireflies or Otter transcript → Claude extracts action items and owners → populates your project tool (Asana, ClickUp, Notion)
- Weekly KPI report automation — pull data from 2-4 sources → Claude narrates the week’s performance → email to you or your executive team
- Client status update automation — every active client gets a generated weekly update email from project data, reviewed by the account manager before sending
What’s included:
- Built in n8n (self-hosted on your infrastructure OR on my hosted instance you migrate later)
- Connected to your existing tools (CRM, inbox, project tool, storage)
- Written SOP so any team member can maintain or modify
- 30 minutes of live handoff training via video call
- 14 days of email support after handoff
Best for: owners ready to ship one concrete thing instead of a broad rollout.
Tier 3 — Three Workflows + 30-Day Support ($4,997 CAD)
Timeline: 4-5 weeks
Deliverable: Three production workflows + ongoing optimization for the first month
The same scope as Tier 2 but three workflows instead of one, with a 30-day post-launch period where I monitor outputs, tune prompts and error handling, and iterate based on what your team actually does with the outputs.
This tier typically covers the three most common SMB AI deployments:
- Communication workflow — inbox triage, drafted responses, meeting prep
- Document workflow — contract review, proposal drafting, report generation
- Data/reporting workflow — KPI aggregation, customer health scoring, exception flagging
After 30 days, your team owns all three and can maintain them independently. Most Tier 3 clients save 15-30 hours/week across the team once all three workflows are running.
Best for: owners who’ve decided AI is strategic and want a real operational shift, not a pilot.
What’s not in any of these packages
- Building you a custom AI product — that’s a different engagement model and typically starts at $25K+
- Hosting the AI service for you ongoing — workflows run on your infrastructure or tools you pay for directly (n8n Cloud, Make.com, OpenAI/Anthropic/Google API keys)
- Training your team on how to use ChatGPT — I focus on automations that run without ongoing team involvement. Prompt-engineering training for humans is a different product.
- LinkedIn ghostwriting or social content automation — not my focus area
- Email or phone sales — I don’t run an account rep team. The person you talk to is the person doing the work.
Who this is for
- Canadian SMBs ($500K-$10M annual revenue) in professional services, construction, real estate, consulting, healthcare practice, accounting, or legal
- Owners / founders / practice partners (not employees evaluating for their boss)
- Someone comfortable with async work — Loom walkthroughs, scheduled video calls, not ad-hoc phone support
- Businesses where saving 10-30 hours per week across the team is worth $500-$5,000 — for most professional-services firms billing at $75-250/hr, that’s a 3-20× ROI in year one
Who this isn’t for
- Solo entrepreneurs under $150K revenue (the Tier 1 audit might still fit; Tier 2/3 usually doesn’t pay back fast enough)
- Fortune 500 or enterprise procurement cycles (I’m a solo operator, not a consulting firm)
- Situations requiring on-site presence (everything is remote and async)
- Replacing human judgment in high-consequence domains — AI drafts, humans decide. If you want AI to autonomously file your CRA returns or sign contracts, that’s not what I build.
How this works
- You email me with a brief description of your business and which tier interests you.
- 30-minute video call — free, unpushy. We confirm fit or I refer you elsewhere if it’s not a match.
- 50% deposit to start. Balance on delivery. Stripe or Interac e-transfer.
- Work happens on the agreed timeline. Weekly async status updates.
- Handoff — documented, tested, your team owns it.
Frequently asked questions
What’s your actual experience?
I’ve built 21 production n8n workflows running at Auburn AI — blog-to-podcast pipelines, mention monitoring, affiliate earnings tracking, automated content workflows, trading bot infrastructure. I’ve been writing Claude and ChatGPT prompts as part of working systems (not hobby projects) since mid-2023.
Will you sign an NDA?
Yes, standard mutual NDA before any discovery work. Data stays on your side — I don’t retain client data after project completion.
What about data privacy and PIPEDA?
All workflow architecture accounts for Canadian privacy law. When a workflow sends data to US-based AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic), I’ll document it, assess the risk category, and where material I’ll recommend mitigations (enterprise agreements with data-handling guarantees, redaction layers, or keeping PII out of the AI layer entirely). This is part of the Tier 1 audit; Tier 2/3 implementations are built privacy-first.
What tools do you build on?
Primarily n8n (self-hosted or cloud), Claude via Anthropic API, ChatGPT via OpenAI API, and whatever first-party tools your business already runs. I don’t believe in replacing working tools — AI layers on top of them.
Can I pay in USD?
Yes, billed in CAD equivalent at your preference. Pricing above is in CAD.
What if I only have part of the budget?
Start with Tier 1 ($497). The plan is usable in-house, and if we end up doing Tier 2/3 later, I deduct the $497 from the larger engagement cost.
What’s your turnaround on initial response?
Within one business day. I read every inquiry personally.
